Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern, Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She has been in private practice since 2006 providing nutrition therapy, specializing in eating and behavioral food issues.
Counseling Services: Ms. Pereira specializes in the treatment of anxiety/depression, OCD, eating disorders (including binge eating), identity and life-purpose, life-transitions, among others. Treatment is delivered using a combination of DBT, ACT, gestalt, positive psychology, as well as EMDR and Emotional Transformation Therapy (both used to treat many issues including trauma).
She has her Masters in Professional Counseling and received her LPC-Intern license to practice under the supervision of Holly Webb, LPC-Supervisor. Those who graduate with Master's in Counseling must use a temporary license (Intern) for at least 18 months to acquire 3000 hours of experience while working closely with a supervising LPC. She has completed her training in EMDR, Sandtray therapy and is training in Emotional Transformation Therapy ongoing.
Nutrition Services: Jennifer has worked with clients across the spectrum of weight and wellness: from those with anorexia/eating disorders to chronic dieters to those having gastric bypass surgery. It is her goal to help people remember the natural relationship with food with which we were all born.
She provides services through W.I.S.E., Project Bliss, private practice, and online/phone.
Lindsey is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She graduated with her BS in Psychology from Texas A&M Commerce, and her Masters in Social Work from UT Arlington. Sheplays many roles at Project Bliss including coordinating all interns and volunteers at our facility, adminstrative tasks, marketing, and clinical practice. Lindsey regularly trains and provides in services for our staff. In addition, she provides many excellent groups for our clients. She also coordinates and conducts our education and outreach initiatives. With a deep passion for recovery, Lindsey assists residents in navigating life in recovery and offers guidance to peer mentors.
Utilizing a strength based approach, Lindsey assists clients in developing internal motivation and realizing their capacity. She believes recovery is possible, and that each individual possess the abiity to overcome struggle. With the use of evidenced-based practices, she helps clients expand their flexibility in thinking, explore meaning and passion, and discover an identity outside of their pain, struggle, disorder, etc. Lindsey specializes in eating disorders, and LGBT issues, but enjoys working with all people.
